The Bible speaks of three different kinds of roles in every local church: elders, deacons, and members. Elders, or pastors, are to lead and shepherd the church, equipping members for ministry. Deacons are the hands and feet of the church – serving to help meet the various needs. Finally, Members are Christians who use their gifts to make disciples and serve one another in the church.
