Sunday, February 11, we will head back towards Iowa City for supper and ice skating at Coralridge Mall. Students should grab a friend or two and head to the church after school to catch the bus at 4:00. The youth group will cover the cost of supper and ice skating. Youth should bring money if they would like any extras. When we arrive at the mall, we will eat at the food court and hit the ice. Jason and Carolyn Hurlbut will be planning the event, so please watch for details.
Sunday, March 4, immediately after church until 3:00, we plan to have lunch at Pizza Ranch and head back to the church for games and sledding (weather permitting). Again, this is an excellent opportunity to bring your friends to Sunday service. The youth group will cover the cost of lunch. Youth are asked to bring favorite board games and sledding gear.
Friday, April 20, the youth will have lunch and enjoy activities at Michael's Fun World in the Quad Cities. This is an excellent opportunity to invite friends to Sunday morning service as we will hop on the bus when service is over, grab a bite to eat, and head to Michael's Fun World. More information will become available as the date gets closer.
Wednesday, May 2 from 4:45 to approximately 8:00 is our Pizza Ranch Fundraiser! Thank you Traci Maynard for scheduling this event! We will need several youth to volunteer to invite friends and family, greet guests at the doors, clean tables and visit with customers to raise money for our continued sponsorship of our Compassion Children. Please plan to work a shift or the entire evening. If we have enough students sign up we can run two shifts.
Friday, June 1 at 8:00 p.m. to Saturday, June 2 at 8:00 a.m. is the youth Lock-In! Bring your friends and celebrate the end of another school year! Parents are welcome to get in on the fun by chaperoning the event. Currently those chaperoning are Jacque McCoy and Traci Maynard from 8:00 to midnight, Jim and Becky Stogdill from 11:00 to 3:00, Jason and Carolyn Hurlbut from 2:00 to 6:00, and Steve and Randi Bryant from 4:00 to 8:00 a.m. Youth should bring gear if they plan to sleep, flashlights, games, church appropriate movies, and a favorite snack to share.
Our next parent meeting is Friday, June 1, at 8:00 (the kick off to the lock in). Please plan to attend this meeting if possible. We will be planning summer activities and possibly one additional fundraiser.
